Positionnement DGPS - Station de Pilotage Havre Fécamp

Differential Global Positioning System

Le Havre-Fécamp pilots can come aboard equipped with full-day IPAD tablets, an interface that can be used as a navigation aid (PPU) on certain types of vessel, or installations such as offshore barges or vessels in damage or degraded weather conditions. The tablets are connected to Navicom Dynamics or Trelleborg Cat Rot single or dual antennas.

The first equipment was acquired in 2006, following the arrival of container ships over 325 meters long and 40 meters wide passing through the François 1er lock.

Today, their use is extended to any large ship with two pilots on board.

In addition to this independence, the system allows the pilot to access heading, speed and positioning data wherever the pilot is on the bridge or aileron, via a WIFI link.

Set-up takes just a few minutes.
