Yesterday was a special day at the Le Havre – Fécamp pilot station. Vice-Admiral Benoit de Guibert, Maritime Prefect and Commander of the Manche-North Sea maritime zone and district, honored us with a visit.

It’s an opportunity for us to exchange views among maritime professionals on the challenges of port pilotage, its practices and experience.

Highlight of the day: the admiral accompanied our colleague Patrice COUR as a 366-meter container ship maneuvered its way into Port 2000.

During the day, the admiral was also able to discover our facilities at the Quai de la Marine, as well as our maneuvering simulator.

That evening, at our annual cocktail party, we presented our new H135 helicopter to him and the other guests.

Our warmest thanks to Admiral de Guibert for his availability and interest in the Le Havre pilot station.
